Grandfather Clocks

I started making Grandfather clocks in 1999. Like many of my ideas I made 11 in all before putting them in the loft. I gave the first one  to my younger daughter and she used it before getting too old for it. One I gave to our local school, and now my three grand-daughters also have one each. In 2019 I stripped down two of the clocks and revamped them and I have also made two new ones, one for my youngest grand-daughter in Australia.

Each one is made individually and stands around 1 metre tall. The grandfather clocks are decorated with embellishments from many sources, some made by myself, and then painted and varnished. Behind the clock face there lives a family of mice. The shelves and hooks are for storing treasures and in the base is hidden a store for secrets. Each clock also has a little book which I wrote myself and is called "Mouse Tales and Other Endings", and is designed to help the child to learn the time.
